Whether you were already considering homeschooling your child, or current challenges have sent you searching in that direction; the Sanger Public Library is here to help. We understand that there are TONS of possible resources and curricula to choose from and that this can be a very daunting decision.
The State of Texas is very supportive of homeschooling and very little is legally required of parents who choose to educate their children in this manner. The TEA website is a good place to start when considering the legal aspect. One of the websites that the TEA recommends for further resources is the Texas Homeschool Coalition.
We also have a number of Homeschool books in our catalogue that can help to guide you through the process of getting started and choosing curriculum(s). More resources are available through the North Texas Library Consortium.
The North Texas Library consortium is a group with 11 other North Texas libraries. Sanger Public Library cardholders are able to request materials from NTLC libraries for pickup in Sanger, as well as check out materials from NTLC libraries in person using their Sanger card.
