UPDATE 6/3/20:

Sanger Public Library’s Reopening by Appointment

Monday, June 8th

click here to request a library appointment

To help ensure the safety of our community, the library will strive to follow Governor Abbott’s executive order GA-18, which mandates that libraries and museums:

  • Have employees maintain at least 6 feet of separation from other individuals
  • Limit the number of people allowed in the building to 25% of the maximum capacity, which equals ten (10) people in the Sanger Public Library
  • Not allow interactive functions to be used by visitors
  • Sanitize items that come into contact with visitors

In order to comply with these requirements, the next phase of our re-opening will continue to use an appointment system.

Beginning June 8th, patrons will also have the option of scheduling a

30 minute appointment to visit the library for limited services, including the following:

  • Checking out of library materials
  • Mobile printing using the Princh app
  • Reference assistance, including help in locating desired materials
  • Browsing certain parts of the collection, including recent additions
  • Assistance in faxing and photocopying

These services will be available between the hours of 10:30-5:00 Monday-Thursday, 10:30-4:30 on Fridays, and 10:30-1:30 on Saturdays.

  • Computer use
  • Browsing in the children’s section, the stacks (aisles of bookshelves), and sections in the back of the library.
  • Reserving the meeting room
  • Restrooms and water fountain
  • Seating other than designated chairs

We are committed to both the safety of our patrons and staff, as well as offering as many of our services as possible. This policy will be reviewed every 7 days and modified as circumstances and legal requirements change.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Patrons visiting the library should follow the Minimum Standard Health Protocols for Library Visitors in the Governor’s Report to Open Texas:

  • Self-screen before going into the library for any of the following, new or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19:

    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Chills or repeated shaking with chills
    • Muscle pain
    • Headache
    • Sore throat
    • Loss of taste or smell
    • Diarrhea
    • Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19

  • Maintain at least 6 feet separation from other individuals not attending the library together or part of the same household. If such distancing is not feasible, other measures such as face covering, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, cleanliness, and sanitation should be rigorously practiced.

  • Disinfect hands or wash hands upon entering the library and after any interaction with employees, other visitors, or items in the library.

  • Consistent with the actions taken by many individuals across the state, consider wearing cloth face coverings (over the nose and mouth) when entering the library, or when within 6 feet of another person who is not a member of the individual’s household. If available, individuals should consider wearing non-medical grade face masks.

UPDATE 5/9/20:

Sanger Public Library’s Curbside

Curbside Service Begins May 11th

The library will begin providing curbside pickup service by appointment Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:30-1:30 p.m.

Placing Holds:

Place items on hold by logging in to our catalog with your library card number and PIN (usually set to the last four digits of card number).  Search our catalog by clicking here!   If you need assistance, please call the library at 940-458-3257 and we will be happy to help.

At this time no items from other libraries will be available.  We appreciate any effort you can make to help limit the number of holds you place so that others will also have reasonable access to our materials, and we will have enough space on our hold shelves and carts. There will be a maximum of 20 items per family.

Picking Up Your Items:

You will receive notification when your items are ready to be picked up. This will be done by the means you have selected when you placed your holds (phone or email). If we haven’t already spoken to you about the items being ready, we ask that you call the library to set a time to pick up your items.

When you arrive, park in one of the numbered spots in our parking lot. Please give us a call to let us know you’re here. A staff member will bring your items out in a bag. In order to keep this contact-less, we ask that you allow us to place the items in the trunk of your vehicle. If not possible, we can leave the items at the curb in front of your vehicle for you to pick up. Staff members will be wearing masks for safety.

Please place items you’re returning to us in the outside book-drop. We will not be able to accept returns during the curbside delivery.  As items are returned, we will be quarantining them for 3-4 days and sanitizing them before putting them back into circulation in order to maintain safe practices and follow recommended guidelines.
