Responsibilities

The City of Sanger's City Secretary's office has several functional areas of responsibility and provides support to its City Council, City Manager, and the citizens of Sanger.

City Council Agenda Packets & Minutes

The City Secretary's Office is responsible for the preparation and dissemination of City Council meeting agendas and packets; attends all of the City Council meetings and records actions taken by the City Council.

Public Information

The City Secretary is designated as the Officer of Public Information, and as such, serves as custodian for the official city records and is responsible for responding to requests for city documents under the Public Information Act.

Elections

The City Secretary serves as the Election Officer for the City of Sanger and is responsible for the administration of all city elections.

Other Duties prescribed in the Charter

  • Maintain the official records and files of the City
  • Ensuring alcohol permits/lien collections hold and maintain the city seal and affix to documents as required
  • Attesting the Mayor and other authorized officer's signatures on all official documents
  • Other duties as assigned by the City Manager
